[LA Times] [Dodgers Digest] [LA Dodger Report]
The Dodgers weren’t going to get swept in Colorado. They won by a score of 10-6 in a typical Coors Field type game. Apparently the wind was blowing out 10 MPH; which doesn’t seem like much but it’s enough to turn Coors into a 16-run circus.
Some notables:
- Three hits for Logan Forsythe.
- Two hits and two driven in for Justin Turner.
- Joc Pederson and Austin Barnes had two knocks each.
- Andrew Toles pinch hit and drove in a run (we love Toles!)
- Kenta Maeda has mastered Coors Field. He wasn’t great but was good enough to get the win going five innings and allowing four earned runs. He’s now 2-0.
Corey Seager blasted his second home run of the season, it traveled 433 feet out to center field. Seager had two hits and a walk and scored twice. He sits at a Seager-like .308 on the season.
So the Dodgers enter Monday night’s showdown with the Chicago Cubs on ESPN Monday Night Baseball at 4-3. The Cubs get their rings tomorrow night and have big game hunter Jon Lester on the bump. With the Dodgers struggles with left-handed pitching, they have their work cut out for them at Wrigley Field.
