It was a special night at Chavez Ravine, even if a greater prize lies ahead.
Against their hated rivals the San Francisco Giants, they prevailed with a 4-2 win to clinch the National League West for 2017. Cody Bellinger had the big swing in this one, hitting his 39th home run to break a 1-1 tie and put the Dodgers up 4-1.
As much as I love Corey Seager and the rest of the gang, it certainly feels like these are Cody Bellinger’s Dodgers right now. And Rich Hill was dazzling. You knew he would take the ball and get it done.
And Tommy Lasorda got his birthday gift on his 90th. No, it wasn’t the clinch in and of itself. But a call from from of his admirers on Lasorda Friday:
Just tried to call Tommy. Mailbox was full. No answer #Dodgers http://pic.twitter.com/dL40R1hyXN

Meanwhile, the darling Cleveland Indians lost tonight when Nelson Cruz hit a walk-off home run off closer Cody Allen. So, you can suck on that one a while Cleveland. This night belongs to the Dodgers!
