Bryce Harper was in the midst of his worst slump in about a year’s time entering today’s afternooner in Kansas City, a game in which the Nationals bludgeoned the Royals 13-2. But Bryce got to face an old friend in Dillon Gee, and he did his friend dirty.
The home run was Harper’s 10th of the season. He’s had a knack for homering in Stephen Strasburg starts this season, and Strasburg improved to 5-0 in his own right with yet another quality start. The Nationals were clearly out for revenge after Jonathan Papelbon blew a save in embarrassing fashion last night. The only thing keeping the Nationals from sweeps is their cancer of a closer!
It’s kind of nice seeing the Royals get knocked around like this.
