Dodgers take Game two of NLDS vs. Arizona

[Dodgers 8, DBacks 5]
[LA Times]

I’m not sure there was even a star last night; I’m not even sure how well Los Angeles was forced to play. But if there was a star, it was Yasiel Puig (three hits, at least two bat flips, tough AB’s all night). Puig is exciting, grinding, and setting the tone for the Dodgers right now in their ‘take no shit’ path through Arizona in the NLDS.

The heart of the order did nothing. The big knocks aside form Puig came from Logan Forsythe and Austin Barnes. Rich Hill didn’t throw that well. Brandon Morrow gave up a three run dinger to Brandon Drury that could have let Arizona back in the game.

Yet on a Saturday night in wild Los Angeles, all was right again with the world.

Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer in the first inning; and from there the Dbacks had a real chance to take this game. But Robbie Ray was simply not himself after throwing a few innings in the Wildcard game.

The Dodgers will play on Monday night and face Zach Greinke to try to put this series away. They counter with Yu Darvish.
