It’s the day of the Home Run Derby in Miami, which means Chris Berman is sure to get a spike in Google searches today. If you’ve found your way here, you should know that there will be no Berman-isms tonight. Karl Ravech has replaced Berman as the official voice and host of the Derby.
There are some different odds flying around, but here’s what you’ll see out there kind of sort of:
Giancarlo Stanton +165
Aaron Judge +175
Gary Sanchez +1400
Justin Bour +1400
Cody Bellinger +900 (he was +400 at my personal book, a huge disparity)
Charlie Blackmon +2000
Miguel Sano +1000
Mike Moustakas +1400
And I’m going with Bellinger. He was built for this contest, he’s going to wear out that right field area that seems more comforting than the pull shots for a right-handed guy like Judge or Stanton.
All in all, I’m looking forward to the derby as much as I have in recent years. Even without Berman.
