Mookie Betts is just a bad ass little player. He’s just terrific, as Donald Trump would say.
You would normally call what he did a career day, but he’s actually now driven eight runs in a game twice. He did it last August 14th at Fenway against Arizona. And today, he tied an MLB record by driving in eight runs out of the lead-off spot in a 15-1 win in Toronto.
He had four hits, two homers, a stolen base, and of course the eight ribbies. Look at him go:
So just as you’re ready to isolate the American League MVP conversation to Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Carlos Correa, and Jose Ramirez; make sure you don’t cut out Mookie just yet. What a field it’s going to be coming down the stretch with this five.
